Parker students from Middle and Upper School divisions battled for the gold at the 2013 San Diego County History Day on March 2. Following Saturday's competition, 36 Parker Upper School students and seven Middle School students advance to the California State competition at the end of April.

History Day is an annual event bringing students in grades 4 through 12 together for project-based competitions. Students participate as individuals or groups, focusing on an historical theme found on a local, national, or global level. The History Day theme of 2013 was "Turning Points in History: People, Ideas, Events."

The Middle and Upper School Social Studies departments would like to thank the teachers and parents who assisted with coaching, interviews, and judging. Special thanks to Carol Brown and the library staff, and Quoc Vo and the technology team who donated time, space, assistance, and equipment to help students with their research.
